Jan. 27th, 2013 06:18 pm→ seventeen.
→ more or less DPPt gameverse canon, with one major difference: her Lucas and Barry died in their battles against Mars and Jupiter at the lakefronts.
→ she is so very yan for them (albeit not in a romantic sense). If she ran into any living versions of her deceased friends, she would easily become obsessed with them, and with keeping them safe at all costs.
→ may or may not have ensured that Cyrus met with a terrible fate in the Distortion World. Cynthia's not saying one way or another.
→ spent a little over a year initially recovering from the trauma of Team Galactic's attack on Sinnoh. After that, she took up training again and seemed to be making great progress--in reality she was so wracked with guilt over her friends' deaths that she resolved never to be weak again.
→ trained intensely for the Elite Four and became Champion at the age of thirteen. Despite her strength as a trainer, she suffered from serious depression and was generally emotionally vulnerable and unstable, prone to random fits of crying and sometimes even panic attacks.
→ around 15, she finally let go of most of her guilt and self-loathing, no longer blaming herself for what happened to Barry and Lucas. After all, she'd been eleven at the time, hardly capable of dealing with those omnicidal Galactic maniacs by herself. However, she now decided that what had happened was instead everyone else's fault--Team Galactic for the crime, the League's gym leaders and trainers for not stepping in when they were needed, even Rowan, who Lucas gave his life protecting. All of them were to blame. And Dawn would never forgive them.
→ of course Dawn still bears some measure guilt over Barry and Lucas's deaths, and she always will. But it feels very, very good to have other targets now for her hatred and misery.
→ at 16, she took a six month "sabbatical," ostensibly to travel and train again as she had when she was younger. If she actually used that time to hunt down Mars and Jupiter and exact personal vengeance for their crimes, no one will ever be the wiser.
→ Dawn still talks out loud to "Barry" and "Lucas" on occasion when she's by herself--not because she believes they're really there with her, but because she's lonely and desperately wishes they were.
